Take A Trip Down Memory Lane with New Face of What’s Up Digi-Kode Podcast!
After gracing What’s Up Digi-Kode with their presence for the past six months, it’s time for Karina and Astrid to pass the baton to our next podcaster, Nadhira, and Kartika. In their last episode together, Karin and Astrid made a little trip down memory lane to reminisce about their journey with What’s Up Digi-Kode.
While being asked about their most memorable episode, Karina and Astrid agreed to pick Episode #05: Women Lead in Fashion Industry with Aliya Amitra Tjakraamidjaja, the Co-Founder and COO of Tinkerlust, as the guest. This episode gives a lot of insight about building / co-founding a fashion start-up and how Tinkerlust solved fashion-related problems in society, highlighting the start-up’s growth and sustainability mission. They also found Aliya’s career-changing story from a banker to co-founder as remarkable.
Karina also mentioned Maria Jessica, the guest for Episode #04: Become a Product Manager: The Intersection Between Data, Business, and Tech, as one of the guests that give the strongest impression. Being one of the “tech” figures in tiket.com, Maria gave insightful explanations about her career-life in a way that could be easily understood by someone unfamiliar with the tech industry. For Karin, the lesson learned from Maria was useful for those who planned a career in the tech world and everyone regardless of their career background.
As for Astrid, she chose Cynthia Cecilia, the founder of Jobhunt, as the most remarkable guest for her. In Episode #03: The Prospective Women In Tech, How’s the Obstacle and Chances, Cynthia shared her thoughts about the story behind the establishment of Jobhunt. One of the quotes Cynthia said that Astrid still remembers as motivation was: “Jangan biarin orang yang ngeremehin kamu itu bisa ngeremehin kamu. Kita harus bisa buktiin lewat karya.”
Looking back to their six months journey as the podcaster of What’s Up Digi-Kode, Astrid and Karina also shared about the struggle they faced. For both of them, the best part of being a podcaster was to get the chance to meet with new people every week and to be able to learn directly from them. The guests kept giving them insight that motivated them to move forward, as they now realized that even great people still struggled to achieve what they dreamed of.
Both of them also laughed over the struggle they shared while recording the podcast. Recording a podcast through an online platform has its ups and downs, as their recording heavily relied on the internet connection. Not to mention, it was also hard to be in a conducive situation. It wasn’t uncommon for them to have unwanted background noise — like the sound of merchants passing their home — on the recording.
As they passed their position to Nadhira and Kartika after this episode, Karina and Astrid hoped that the new host could bring more color to What’s Up Digi-Kode and represent insightful young women. Both of them were excited to see what Nadhira and Kartika had in store for the podcast. They were working toward broadening the topic of What’s Up Digi Kode, which currently focused on careers in digital and technology.
Taking the title as the new host, both Nadhira and Kartika were feeling honored at the chance given by Girls Kode to empower women who wanted to thrive in the digital and technology field. They hoped that their presence and future episodes could answer the listeners’ questions about digital and technology, inspiring more people to excel in their desired field.
For the next six months, both of them stated they want to talk more about women’s empowerment issues, from breaking the gender inequality to how amazing women could rise from their struggle in the pandemic era. Kartika also expressed her wish-list to be able to have Maudy Ayunda as one of our guests, as she felt many people would be inspired by her personality and career journey. Nadhira also mentioned the CEO of Natuno Design, Sabrina Anggraini, who recently got accepted into Massachusetts Institute Technology, or best known as MIT.
Many insightful conversations are shared between the four podcasters in Episode #10: Lil Throwback and New Host Surprise. Make sure not to miss Astrid and Karina’s last episode and their dialogues with the new podcast, Nadhira, and Kartika!
